Taunton Suzuki Group held its first workshop under the stewardship of Alison Dedicoat and Jean Broadbent at the start of their Autumn half term on 26 October.
Twenty-five violin and piano pupils from 3 to 13 attended the day at a wonderful home in the beautiful location of the Quantock Hills.
Pupils received masterclasses by guest tutors Natasha Sym (piano) and Amy Kenny (violin), improvisation by Sarah Scutt, drumming by Eliza Wylie and enjoyed a craft session personalising music bags.
Alison and Jean received funding from Bristol Suzuki Group which helped them enormously to make the event affordable for their pupils.
"Having been to many bigger workshops ourselves, we hoped the day would be a good introduction into workshops, and encourage our families to explore more workshops around the country", said Alison.
"The day was so successful, there have been calls for us to repeat it, which can only be a good thing!", added Jean.
