Springtime Galloway Violin Studio
News from the Galloway Violin Studio
Students of the Galloway Violin Studio were invited early in June to play for afternoon teatime at Corsock House - part of Scotland’s Garden Scheme whereby various gardens open to raise money for local charities. We were blessed with brilliant sunshine, some eager violin students and parents, and VERY appreciative listeners. Upwards of 300 visitors passed through the garden that afternoon, generating over £3K for charities!
This video is one of the songs our students learned to play for two recent public performances. A piece composed in 2005 by Christopher Tin, with a distinctly African flavour. This arrangement is for three violin parts, cello, conga drums and shakers. Our violinists loved playing Baba Yetu!
